Experiences 10 & 11 - the Computer Den

Experience 10
July 2016

My house was built in 1938. There were two rooms added to the back of the house in the 70s, which we use as a family room and a computer den.

i had mail ordered a new silver chain necklace that had a hook that was too big to fit through the loop of the black crystal that i wanted to wear with it. i was going to have to send it back.

i was upset until i realized that the hook connecting the lobster claw to the chain was small enough to fit through the loop on the crystal. i would just have to remove the claw then remove the ring that held the claw to the hook.

Like a dummy i put it back together again the same way i had taken it apart instead of attaching the ring and the claw to the large hook, but i was so happy just to be able to get it to work. This means that even if the necklace became unclasped around my neck, the crystal could not fall off the chain.

i went and told my wife, who was in the computer den, exactly what i had to do to make that necklace work. She didnt want to hear it, so i adamantly and painstakingly suffered her through every minor detail. She didnt hear half of what i had said.

But something was listening.

It was either that night or the next that i fell asleep at my desk in that room around 2 AM. i woke up at about 4 AM.

Uh oh. i needed to get up for work in four hours, so better get upstairs to bed. When i stood up i felt the crystal fall into my shirt and was stopped at my waist by my pants.
i thought well that was a cheap chain what broke already and expected it to slide off my neck as i headed upstairs. It did not. It was still intact and so was the loop on the crystal.

That would mean for that crystal to be removed from the chain because i had put it back together the wrong way:
First the lobster claw would have to be opened to let go of the hook.
The ring on the claw would need to be bent open and separated off of the small hook.
Remove the crystal.
Press the ring and claw back onto the small hook.
Fasten the lobster claw to the big hook to be around my neck again.

When i told my wife, she said strange stuff is allowed to happen sometimes.

Umm, NO, it is Not!

i told my friend what had happened and he set out to debunk my story, which is what i would’ve done. He was so sure that there could not possibly have been anything remotely supernatural that would happen to me that he was able to create doubt in my mind that there was a reason and explanation for why it happened. He just couldn’t say what it was.

Also July 2016

Not even a week later i find myself in that room late at night thinking i had better not fall asleep in here. i remember seeing the time at just about 3 AM and i was about to stand up to go upstairs when i woke up.

Uh Oh!

The clock said it was almost 3:15.
i checked the necklace. Whew! The crystal was still there. i went upstairs and to bed.

So you know how when you first wake up the charm on your necklace has fallen towards your back and you have to pull it back to the front again and normally the charm will just travel down the chain till it’s in the middle.

Well it didn’t. It couldn’t. The crystal wasn’t free-floating on the chain anymore. It was attached to the ring that was holding the claw onto the little hook. There is no way short of supernatural for that to happen.

i tried to re-create it and it took me longer than 15 minutes just trying to close that little ring with the lobster claw, the crystal, and the hook all inside of it.

The steps to remove the crystal are like this:

Unclasp the chain.
Remove the claw from the ring.
Remove the ring from the chain.
Remove the crystal from the chain.
Put the ring back on.
Put the claw back on.
Close the chain around my neck.

All this in 15 minutes without waking me up.
This is how the necklace was when it happened the second time.

This configuration removed all doubt from my thoughts. This was definitely supernatural.
Although my friend still thought there was a reasonable explanation for it.
