Around 40 years ago, a huge flood hit my howntown. This disaster destroyed thiz over-100-year-old city. After that, a bunch of locals spotted a huge snake just chilling on the broken road. I thought that's just a rumor, till i truly spotted a huge snake coild up in a tunnel while driving on the highway a few years ago. And after a few days, i heard that the highway i passed also got hit by landslide results of a huge flood, and the tunnel i found the snake got totally blocked by smelly sludge.
An old folk in the village says that my hometown was protected by an elder gods with half-snake body back in the day, 'cause here's also its (their? maybe 2 elders) homeland. So thiz iz basically a local urban legend from my hometown 'bout primitive beliefs or worship. The olders in countryside regard these disasters involving snakes as the elder(s) punishing the “FOLLOWERS”–the generations living on thiz land. The snakes that come out during various disasters are seen as one of the culprits (okay well, though scientifically, it's just that natural disasters have also destroyed the home of those burrowing animals in the soil).
BTW i'm writing a piece of SCP bout my hometown and the belief about the elder(s). Now i wanna add these legends to the article, i believe thiz will be giant mint once it's done lol
